
The Galapagos is one of the most fascinating places in the world for scuba diving and snorkelling, and more. It has been declared one of the seven wonders of underwater of the world. Its waters offer the opportunity to observe its flora and fauna, coral reefs, whales, whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, rays and manta rays, turtles, lava lizards and much more. One of the most entertaining experiences is to dive or swim with the sea lions.
Santa Cruz island is the ideal place to watch animals like: Gigant tortoises, marine lizard, blue footed bobies, sea lions and more. The principal airport of Galapagos island is located in Baltra from here you can arrive to Puerto Ayora in little time, with a combination of trip by road through the different areas of vegetation on the Galapagos and a boat transportaion by the after by the Itabaca Canal. Puerto Ayora has a large variety of services and tourist options. The hotels, restaurants, and bars offer good services. In Puerto Ayora is easy to visit the Charles Darwin Station to see Lonsome George, visit Tortuga Bay, or visit Grietas.
Floreana has a surface of 173 Km2, Its name is in honor to the first Ecuadorian President Juan José Flores. The most important places to visit are: Post Office Bay, the Flamingo´s lagoon, Cormorant Point and the Pirate´s cove, and an excellent place to practice snorkelling and diving is the Devil´s crown, It´s easy to see sea lions and blue footed boobies along the island, penguins, flamingos , marine lizards and other exotic species. The life style is simple, there is only one bar in Puerto Velasco. Floreana is a place where the fantasy, legends and mystery is felt in the atmosphere.
With all the facilities like telephone , internet, hospital, hotels, and restaurants, San Critobal has this name in honor to Cristobal Colon, and this island is full of vegetation. The principal city is Puerto Baquerizo and it's the first city that Charkes Darwin visited in 1835. The second airport, and most important of Galapagos is located on this island. San Cristobal has the biggest lagoon of water in the archipielago, in the island called Junco it's normal to see swallows, blue footedboobies, flycatchers, and others kinds of species, near the lagoon you can visit La Galapaguera to see the Gigant Galapagos Tortoise. Others attractions on the island are: Pitt Point, Loberia, Lobos Island, Colina Frigata, Kicker Rock, Ochoa Port, Cabo de Horno Beach and Grande Port.
Isabela is the biggest island in Galapagos, on this island is located Caleta Tagus a natural port where the whalers and pirates painted their names in the rocks. This island has 6 volcanos and 5 of them are active, in each volcano lives unique species of tortoises, in adiccion you can visit Sierra Negra Volcano. Here you can see flamingos, penguins, marine lizards and several species of giant tortoises, sea lions and sharks. You can also visit: Muro de las Lagrimas, Elizabeth Bay, Ubina Bay and more.
Fernandina has a surface of 642 km2 and is the island with the most volcanic activity, the last eruption of Fernandina's volcano was in May 2005 for this reason the island doesn´t have a lot of vegetation and animals. But the Lava Lizards frecuently visit the island. Watching the Lava lizard is wounderfull to see how they change their color from dark green into red. Espinoza Point is a small beach with mangroves where you can see penguins.
The best tourist point of Bartolome is the Pinnacle Rock a big rock of black lava, nearby there are 2 beaches shaped like the moon, from the highest of the mountain in Bartolome it is posible to see Santiago, North Seymour, Baltra, Santa Cruz, and Rabida islands. It´s a fantastic place to go snorkeling and swimming, it´s one of the best places to see penguins, sea lions, tropical fishes, rays and sharks.
North Seymour is a fantastic place where it's easy to do trekking, swimming, snorkeling, and diving. In the coast of the island it´s normal to see the sea lions swim in the water. North Seymour is located near to Baltra island both islands have similar vegetation, the path in the island take the tourist to see the Blue Footed Boobie´s nest. The principal atractions are: frigate birds, boobies, swallowsand sharks.
Genovesa has 2 principal tourist places: Prince Philips Steps and Darwin Bay, this is one of the most famous places to watch animals like: frigate birds, masked boobies, red footed boobies, sea lions and seals. When you go snorkeling and diving, the sea lions and hammerhead sharks will swim beside you. The Prince Philips Steps is an rock with the shape of steps, this place has this name because the Prince Philips visited the Genovesa Island in the 60´s.
There is a lagoon behind the red sand beah of the Rabida island. The sea lions and the pelicans nest in the surrounding area. The island is very famous for its red sand beaches. Rabida is the ideal place if you like the birdwatching in their natural habitat. It´s a very good place to practice snorkeling, here you can seed 3 dolphin species.
